The scene streams through my head. The emotions, feelings, dialog, and actually seeing the action take place robs the breath from my lungs or makes my heart race.
Add a commentWhen I create a character, I first look for someone who would fit the physical characteristics of the person I created in my mind, and then I fill it with the ins and outs of my fertile imagination. Its story, past and future, is all up to what my mind creates but with an added quirk. I tend to go a little beyond that. I need to see the character’s mannerisms, speech, behavior in my mind.
Add a commentYou have to love it that when you’re struggling to find a tone or set the scene your partner can take what you have just put down and then run with it. Once “snowflaked”, it’s lobbed back to you for another round writing. Before you know it, the chapter is finished, the story is pushed forward, and the process starts all over again with the next chapter.

Add a commentA lot of new authors get into the point of view trap. Using the many POV types appropriately and without confusing the reader is a challenge when writing a multiple POV book. Our books, be it a short or a longer novel, they all have two main characters which alternate taking over the POV throughout the story.
