It's hard to believe that we are already in December. It was just a year ago, that Chris and I decided to take a big step that would impact the rest of our lives or at least our sanity. Chris' ever-creative mind had an idea for a story and after much discussion, we decided to take a chance and write it. But not just write it, but also play it out in a role-playing environment as a litmus test to see if, in the world of weres and vampires, two contemporary characters could cut it and hold the attention of avid paranormal fans. We spent the last two weeks searching for the right image to use on the cover of Countermeasure. At first we thought it would be an easy task as the original image we had used as temporary cover image was simple although sexy. As it turned out, it ballooned into a grueling two-week search in several stock photography sites. Add a comment

So, November is over and I can say I will be more prepared for it next year than I was this year. November is National Novel Writing Month and for the first time Cecilia and I decided to join the many Wrimos around the world and take the challenge.

Yesterday I was at the monthly Toronto RWA meeting and I was floored by the amount of valuable information and wisdom I was able to acquire during one single meeting. Well, technically two since I attended pre-meeting lunch with a smaller group of fantastic authors.

Cecilia and I have been frantically editing as well as writing this month. The reason? We finished Countermeasure but as any book, it needs editing, and because it's such a long novel (118K at this point--about 23 chapters to go) we need to be careful when tightening the story, rewriting scenes, cutting stuff out, etc, so not to lose the edge and the sexual tension we've built into the story.
