As some of you may know, Cecilia and I began writing as a fluke. We joined a role playing group back in 2010 and were a mated couple back then. We had never met before until September 6, 2010. We were both green behind the ears and aside from my writing when much younger and Cecilia's technical writing for work, we had not written anything.

So, Countermeasure received another good review. One would say, so what? Countermeasure has received good reviews in the past. One would spread the word about it (which we did) and move on. Well. not so fast there, pal. We jump for joy with every new review but this one came with a punch. The reviewer is also an IT peep, which means that to her, the book had an even higher level of enjoyment because she got the whole of the geeky world stirred into it.

Write every day. Even a small number of words count. Authors hear the mantra all the time. Like a muscle, we need to exercise our writing skills in order to make it grow. Writing more is also a sure way to break a writer's block or to find plugs for a plot hole. The more your write, the better your brain will figure out ways out of corners. Write, re-write. Just write all the time, for as long as you can.

As she approached the corner, around which she had witnessed it disappear, the squeal of breaks and sound of shattering glass hit her like a sonic wave. Her heart beat wildly in her chest. Her hand moved to the front of her throat and rubbed it in an attempt to loosen the knot lodged there. Elaine turned the corner and fueled by adrenaline raced into the street and approached the crumbled car. She had to know. She had to see for herself. Was the driver...."

Last night, we received another 5-star review for Countermeasure. We have received very good reviews of our books in the past but this one was somewhat special. The reason being, it came from the other side of the planet from us. Kuala Lumpur. Add a comment
