This past week has been a busy one. I am currently visiting with Chris for three weeks and we were hoping to make great strides toward getting our first novel, Countermeasure, self-published. We are accomplishing just that.
We finished the official editing of the book on my birthday of all things so that will always be a memorable event (aside from the 28 hours of labor that I inflicted on my mother oh so many years ago).
This week we obtained the copyright registration for the novel and the ISBNs for all the formats we will be using. Again big steps toward our release date, later this month. So what does it all mean? Do we relax and wait for the release date? Do we take a break from writing? Not. For those who know us, we are a “go gadget” machine and running around like chickens in a never ending loop of activity.
We are reaching out to book review sites and promoting the novel as we have for the past 6 months. Our research is non-stop—craft, publishing, writing, and double checking facts (the library has an APB out on us due to the catalog of books we’ve checked out and are sitting here next to us).
Lastly, we are writing. Always writing. Our sequel, To Russia with Love, is approximately 65% finished. We have competed the Prologue and second drafts of Chapters 1-3. We are also in the process of blending in our subplot.
While Russia originally posted as a test story line on Facebook, it has not taken away from the excitement of snow flaking and adding what we know needs to be added to tighten the story.
But we are not stopping there. Alternate Connection, the third book in the Countermeasure Series, is pulling at our thoughts and several shorts are in various stages of demanding attention.
That’s us. ALWAYS up to a challenge.
