“Great Scot!”
As I contemplated possible topics for my guest post today, I began to think of the types of men who boil my couscous. Almost immediately, I thought of the Scots.
No, I’m not referring to men in my past who’ve borne that moniker. I’m referring to those tartan-clad, rugged men of bonnie Scotland. Anyone who reads any sort of romance lit today will have noticed this trend that refuses to die. Scan any romance book shelf and you will find numerous Highlanders and Scotsmen of every assortment.
Even I’ve been tempted to put pen to paper and create my own Scottish heroes. One’s a mythical Selkie and the other is a centuries-old Pictish vampire. They’re yet to be published so more on them later!

After years of trying to discover what I wanted to be when I finally grew up – now thirty eight and still questioning – rekindling my love for reading has led me down the path to write. Writing has become not only a passion, but a true goal. Making the decision to write and be very serious about it was both easy and complicated. In all reality, I knew I had to keep my "day job" and find the time to commit to my writing. The time spent between dealing with kids and everyday life made time management a must.
